Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 27, 2026
This policy is issued by Guangzhou Bingfeng Information Technology Co., Ltd. ("we") and applies to Trail Running in China (domain trailrunninginchina.com / iyueye.cn, including the website and the WeChat mini program, together the "Service"). We take the protection of your personal information seriously and do our best to keep it secure. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what rights you have over your own information. Please read this policy carefully before using the Service. If you do not agree with it, please stop using the Service.
1. Scope of Application
This policy applies to all use of the Service through the website (mobile browsers, the built-in browser in WeChat, and desktop browsers) and through the WeChat mini program.
Please note: the Service aggregates and indexes trail running race information. Registration, payment and refunds for a race happen on the race organiser's own platform or a third-party registration platform; how those platforms handle your information is governed by their own privacy policies, not by this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We only collect the information that is necessary to provide the Service:
(a) Information you provide to us
- WeChat login information: when you sign in with WeChat, we receive the account identifier (openid / unionid), nickname and avatar returned by WeChat, in order to identify your account and sync your personal data within the Service.
- Content you submit: what you actively enter when using favourites, the wishlist, race ratings, race companions, feedback and similar features (such as race names, links, descriptions and contact details).
(b) Information collected automatically as you use the Service
- Device and access logs: time of access, pages visited, time spent on a page, traffic source, browser type and version (User-Agent).
- Network information: IP address, used for security protection, abnormal-traffic detection and visitor-geo statistics — see Section 5.
- Local identifier: to count unique visitors, we generate a random identifier in your browser's local storage or the mini program's local cache. It contains no name, phone number or other information that directly identifies you.
(c) Information generated when you purchase paid services
- When you purchase a paid service from us, we record order-related information: order number, product name and identifier, amount, payment channel, payment status and payment time. This is used to deliver the service, handle refunds and enquiries, and reconcile accounts.
- Online payment is provided by WeChat Pay (Tenpay). We never collect or store your card number, payment password or other payment-account credentials; to link an order to your account we receive the account identifier (openid) returned by WeChat.
We do not collect your contacts, SMS, photo album or precise location (GPS), and we do not read data from other apps on your device.
3. How We Use This Information
We use the information collected only for the following purposes:
- Providing, maintaining and improving the Service — for example syncing your favourites and wishlist, and storing and displaying the race information and feedback you submit;
- Statistics and analysis (traffic, page popularity, visitor geography) to understand usage and improve the experience;
- Protecting the Service: identifying and blocking scrapers, malicious requests and abnormal submissions;
- Responding to your enquiries, feedback and complaints.
We do not use this information for automated decision-making that significantly affects your rights, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
The Service uses browser local storage (localStorage) or the mini program's local cache to keep your login credentials and a random visitor identifier, used to keep you signed in, remember your favourites and filter preferences, and count unique visitors.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, and we have not integrated any third-party advertising or tracking services. You can clear local storage through your browser settings; afterwards you may need to sign in again. Account data already stored on our servers is not affected.
5. IP Addresses and Visitor-Geo Statistics
To understand where visitors come from (for example how many visitors arrive from different countries or cities), we record the IP address of your visit and resolve it to country / province / city level using an offline geo database deployed on our own servers.
About this processing, we specifically note:
- The resolution happens entirely on our own servers; we never send your IP address to any third-party online geo-lookup service;
- We only use city-level aggregate statistics; we do not record, infer or use your precise location;
- The parts of raw access records that could be linked to an individual visitor are kept for the period defined in Section 7 and then deleted automatically.
6. Sharing, Transfer and Public Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. Except in the following situations, we do not provide your personal information to any third party:
- With your separate consent;
- Where it is necessary to complete an operation you initiated (for example, after you tap a registration link and jump to the organiser's or a third-party registration platform, your interaction with that platform happens directly between you and them and does not constitute us providing your information to them);
- Where required by laws and regulations, or by mandatory requests from judicial or administrative authorities;
- Where reasonably necessary to protect the safety of the Service, its users or the public.
We do not publicly disclose your personal information. If public disclosure ever becomes necessary, we will inform you separately of the purpose and the types of information involved and obtain your separate consent first.
7. Storage and Retention Periods
- Storage location: your information is stored on servers within the People's Republic of China. We do not transfer your personal information outside China.
- Retention period: raw statistical access records (page-view events, session records) are kept for 180 days and then deleted automatically; race information feedback records are kept for a reasonable period after they are handled; account information is deleted or anonymised after you cancel your account.
Once the retention period above expires, we delete your personal information or anonymise it.
8. Your Rights
Under applicable laws and regulations, you have the following rights over your personal information:
- Access and copy: you may contact us to access and copy the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction and completion: if you find that the personal information we process is inaccurate or incomplete, you may ask us to correct or complete it.
- Deletion: where permitted by law, you may ask us to delete your personal information.
- Withdrawal of consent: you may ask us to withdraw consent to a specific processing activity. After withdrawal we will stop the corresponding processing, without affecting processing already carried out based on your consent before the withdrawal.
- Account cancellation: you may contact us to cancel your account; we will then delete or anonymise your account information.
You can make any of these requests through the contact channels listed in Section 11. We will verify your identity and respond within 15 business days.
9. Protection of Minors
The Service is primarily intended for adult trail runners. If you are a minor under 14, please read this policy with a parent or guardian and use the Service only with their consent.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors under 14. If we find that we have collected such information without prior guardian consent, we will delete it as soon as possible. If you are a guardian with questions about a minor's personal information, contact us through the channels in Section 11.
10. Information Security
We protect your information with industry-standard security measures, including but not limited to encrypted transmission (HTTPS), access control, server security hardening and regular data backups.
Please understand, however, that the internet is never absolutely secure. If a personal-information security incident occurs, we will promptly take remedial measures as required by law and inform you in an appropriate manner.
11. Updates to This Policy and How to Contact Us
When the Service's features, the scope of information collected, or applicable laws change, we may update this policy. The latest version and its effective date will be published on this page. If an update significantly affects your rights over your personal information, we will notify you prominently (for example with an on-page notice). Your continued use of the Service means you accept the updated policy.
